SUMMARY OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to safely manage and supervise operations and maintenance of a rated 13.0 MGD (permitted 15.54 MGD) Advanced Surface Water Treatment System, a raw water intake structure, dual raw water lines (24-inch and 30-inch) and a 25 mile treated water transmission line. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the treatment and delivery of potable water to wholesale water customers of the Brazos River Authority in multiple counties in Texas. This is accomplished by blending conventionally treated water with water that has undergone advanced treatment utilizing ultra filtration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) to remove chlorides and TDS. The System Superintendent will ensure compliance with workplace safety programs, supervise plant personnel; write reports; review and analyze regulatory reports; conduct plant inspections; and maintain inventory. Other responsibilities include supervising required lab tests for regulatory compliance; working with managers, engineers, contractors, state and federal regulatory agencies; preparing and overseeing the annual budget; interacting with other employees and the public; and performing any other duties as assigned.

Candidates must have experience in development and characterization of polymer membranes. You must have the experience and creativity to develop the next generation of membranes. You should also have great project management skills; the ability to plan and design experiments; and the interpersonal skills to communicate with others. Working knowledge of polymers physical chemistry and membrane formation is required.
Successful candidates must posses a PhD with at least 4 years of related experience.
